Need urgent advice on how to remove old CV joint ion a 1996 Mitsubishi Magna Executive 5 speed manual?

HI out there!
Having a heel of a time removing an old left front CV/ driveshaft from the old Magna-totally shot. 5 speed manual gearbox.
Have got as far as removing the shaft and CV boot, gearbox end stuck inside gearbox. Shaft has totally\n come off. Do we have to remove right axle to get left one out (don't really want to do that, a\ns right one is damaged as well, can't afford both at same time!) or do we just keep banging away at the end left in the gearbox until it releases? We have tried turning it to try and help release it whilst prying it out, no good. still stuck.
ANY advice much appreciated!

Horrible MPG's In My 1996 Honda Accord 4CYL Coupe Need Help With Diagnosing The Problem!!!?

I Recently Bought A Used 1996 Honda Accord Coupe 4cyl automatic With 223.876 Mi\nles On it I Love the car, and will till the day it no longer works but i have noticed that the thing really guzzles gas so much so i decided to test a theory i had my mom (also drives a honda accord 2002 with 209,000 miles) and i fill up our hondas and then reset the trip odometer on both cars once my full tank lasted three days wile the 2002 accord took roughly a week and two days to light up the gas pump light so my question is why does my car use soooo much more gas than a car of the same type and mileage and how do i go about getting it back to lasting at least a week if not more?? thanks to all that have had the want to read this far i hope i didn't bore you!
