Ok so I'm planning on a small turbo build. Nothing crazy, stock internals and <10 psi. I'm looking to get about 200 wheel hp to be able to drive it daily.
I was looking for a gsr but I just found a very clean 95 integra LS with the non vtec b18b. Original owner, 103k miles, all stock, and not abuse. I really like it but I'm not sure if it would be a good turbo candidate.
I'm tired of VWs and this will be my first honda/acura. Just want to know what you honda guys think about turboing a b18b to get about 200 whp. Can I get this or should I keep looking for a GSR

Buy a newer car because the turbo kit will cost more then the car.
Here is the quote on the b18b:
{ … Compression ratios ranged from 10.2-to-1 to 10.4-to-1. … }
So then NO, it is not possible to added a turbo or super charger to an engine with such a high compression ratio already.
Even with premium gas, you will have piston shattering pre-ignition.
The only way it can be done is by reducing the compression ratio to like 8 to 1.
The cheapest way to do that is with a very thick head gasket.
The only other way to avoid blowing up the engine from pre-ignition, is to install direct injection, like a diesel or a Porsche.
seriously?!? 8.5:1 at 10 psi?! lmao Id consider dropping 9.5:1 it’ll give you room up to 15 psi Or so but if you drop as low as this jackhole is saying you’ll have a sputtery slow POS
it is worth it to turbo it but the ls are better when there all motor you could smoke vtecs and turbo cars stick with the ls get all the bolt on that you can like the headers intake intake manifold and also get some cams for it and you will be smoking a lot of bitches

They are a forum dedicated to Honda engines without Variable Valve Timing.
You'll easily get 200whp on the stock internals and a decent turbo setup, and to be honest, many people think the B18B platform is the best starting point for a turbo'ed honda. Personally i think any of the B-series platforms are about the same for turbo applications, since none of them are substantially better built on the bottom end than the other, but the good thing about the non-VTEC starting point is simple, there is less to adjust when you get your turbo installed, the boost section of your rpm range will not interfere with the engagement of VTEC (and the power will be a bit more linear, though that's honestly negligible).
It's a great starting point, just like any other B-series motor…just make sure you do it right, and don't skimp on the supporting modifications to make it A.) Reliable, and B.) Optimal for the money invested.
FYI…eBay is not the source for your turbo application. Supporting parts? Sure! It's actually a great place to get them for a good price, but for the whole kit, unless you really research what you're bidding on, most of them are missing a lot of key components, and many come with junk turbos.
I’m also planning to boost a non vtec b18 ,I have a friend that knw this stuff like second nature he’s built his own Honda b16 with 560who.so I trust his judgment.he’s gonna help me install turbo kit all the way, he suggested not to use Ebay turbo kits .so were gonna get (not.the best) but name brand turbo.he said I shouldn’t.have any prb boosting my b18 to 8-10lbs but that’s it I might even got 7lbs to be safe, an I’m gonna change the fuel pump with Walbro 255 and 750cc injectors. then get it turned after all done. hoping to push 200+whp in my Honda crx that’s good enough for a daily driver an smoke them stocked stangs or any other sucka that tries me on the hwy. I’m gonna do it,
just make sure you vent your block good with some type of oil catchcan system. i just boosted my bone tock b18a1 with80k miles on 11 lbs (est. 270whp) and didnt do a vent systm and now my car smokes like a civic choo-choo train lol.
how do u vent the oil pan? or is that what or saying? I don’t v wanna smoke like a train either.
B18. Is the best way to go for. A. Turrbo . I have a 1992 integra it had a stock b18a with 119k when I bought it. I bought a b18b motor from tiger Japan stock internals. So I decided. To go Turbo but without rebuilding the hole thing. I found out that all you’ll need is a good Turbo set up a good tune, block girdle for the non v b series, arp head studs, 6 lyr head gasket, gsr oil pump better oil flow, fuel pressure regulator,. So I did all this and now. 2 years later I still have my 92 da9 Turbo stock internals. @ 10 psi daily driven haven’t had a problem yet. Swapped to stage 2act clutch n flywheel, lightened harmonic balancer and a couple extra goodies. You will be impressed. With a b18 Turbo good luck with you’re build.
Im planing on doing the same thing i got a b18b . and want to go turbo.
my 99 civic right now is d16y8 motor on a t3t4 kit. yes off ebay but runs hard 215-+hp on stock block mild head work ..
now for the b18 what is the best thing i can do with out putting crazy money in to it or sending it out for work .im going to use the kit i have now just with a bseries man.
1 block guard
2 6lyr head gasket
3 itr water pump
4 450cc dsm injectors
will this help by doing these things
