I really want to get a Mazda rx8. But is it a good car. ?

No, it's not a good car. The Wankel engine is excellent in theory, but keeping seals in it is impossible. Look at resale values of RX-2 up through about 6, to see what I mean. If you want a Mazda sporty car, get a miata.

  1. It sure is a good car. The engine is not a issue at all. All that you have to do differently is check your oil levels more regularly. The car burns oil on purpose. I had a Mazda Rx-7 and it was a GREAT car. I've put a hell of a lot of miles on it. I say if you can get the Rx-8 Go for it. I would

  2. I know the newer RX8 is appealing but I would go for an rx7 instead, they have more potential, especially the third generation ones, but second gen car have as much potential.
As for the engine, don't listen to the naysayers, they probably blew their engines. Despite is't bad reputation the wankel engine is very reliable and smooth, it does consume oil as any other piston engine, but a bit more, about a quart for every 1000miles. The fuel economy isn't the best to be honest. but as i said the RX-7 have much more potential and are as if not sexier. they are lighter too. If you go for this car remember you need to pay close attention to your oil and use premium gas.
