  1. I would say your ok for another 500 to 1000 miles just because everything is over engineered, but if you have a problem with the motor while it is still under warranty Ford can pull the services intervalls of your computer and void your warranty for not changing your oil on time. Unlikely they will void it if it not much but still a possibility.

  2. Steve gave a Great Answer because you KNOW if you cook your engine by not changing the Oil on schedule you can BE SURE Ford will review the memory of the ECU to look for a way out of not replacing the engine.

That said… If you don't care about your warranty or about how long you keep the car running then it really doesn't matter how long you wait between oil changes because in the end the worst case scenario is that you have to buy a new engine.

  3. Call your Ford garage to see what the "grace period" on mileage after the light comes on. If you're smart you'll take your own Mobil1 5W-20 in instead of letting them use Korean made Motorcraft semi-synthetic oil. Conco Phillips, the makers of Kendall oil makes Motorcraft. Right on the back label of Kendall Full Synthetic oil it says: made in Korea packaged in the USA.
