Well depending on which car you take the engine out of you would hav to change engine mounts and transmission but you would first hav to find an engine that would fit aswell.. Maybe a v8 engine from a silverado?.. Hope it helps
With the right amount of money you can swap a V12 in there if you want, it ALL depends on your budget, and yours are NOT going to be cheap.
You can use a car performance simulator (NxGTR Sim) to virtually tune your car and run performance test to see what changes improves your car, try at http://goo.gl/5GDa2
Yes, it's a very common swap. Been done MANY times. Too much to list here though cause you have not gave us info on what V8 you want to use.
Do you want to use a gen 1 small block with a carb
gen 1 small block with EFI
Gen II or III engine like the LT1, LS1, etc
Or do you want to put in a big block like a 396, 427, 454

For your truck, a LS series engine would be best…but everything needed is not cheap by any means.
And if its your daily driver, you will need something to drive for awhile while your doing the swap.
