I drive a Ford Ranger, 4×2 with wrangler tires. It's good for all around terrain and such but the wheels spin when the road is wet. When it's rained for a while and the road is really wet, sometimes on a turn or when I start up after a red light, the wheels can spin a bit before I get going. Sometimes it's when I give it too much gas, other times they just spin on their own. is it because the ranger is lighter or is there something else I should look into?

Its called driving a Ranger. Theyre rear wheel drive and have super light back ends. Youre tires are fine. Try taking off/ turning slower.
Change tires to something with more wet grip – and get a lighter foot.
check tire tread & psi.
If you take and put some weight in the back of the so called truck you wont have that problem.Put some sacks of cement in the back of it between the wheels in the bed of the truck and stack them across between the humps of the bed of were the axle is but put them in some black garbage sacks.
